Furman University Cellobration

Cellobration

Established in 1980, Cellobration is a regional music festival hosted each year by the South Carolina chapter of the American String Teachers Association (SCASTA). Whether you're an experienced cellist or a middle school orchestra member, the event provides an opportunity for musicians of all ages to perform and learn from one another.

The annual two-day event is rotated between four South Carolina colleges, including Furman. Cellobration features rehearsals, master classes, recitals and clinics for all ages and skills, culminating with an impressive Saturday afternoon mass concert. A guest artist recital is presented by the clinicians on Friday evening.  When the event was held at Furman in 2012, 116 cellists participated.
