SOAR Scholars Program
(Science Opportunities, Activities and Resources)
SOAR Scholars is a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded scholarship program at Furman University that provides tuition assistance (up to a maximum of $10,000/year) to a cohort of entering freshman who intend to major in chemistry or biology, show strong academic merit, demonstrate significant financial need and have exhibited a passion for science beyond the classroom. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years, and recipients are expected to fully participate in all program activities including a pre-college, STEM-focused orientation program (
SAFE Passage).
