Department Awards
The Assistant Academic Dean’s office will request that each department chair submit the names of departmental awards candidates in early spring. That same month, the Assistant Academic Dean’s office will ask department chairs to submit a brief paragraph about the student to be read at the Awards Banquet. The department chair should establish a fair procedure for selecting departmental award recipients, often through a departmental meeting and vote. The department chair should appoint someone who will represent the department at the awards banquet.
