Students wishing to receive transfer credit should submit a transfer course authorization form to the registrar’s office.  The Registrar uses criteria established on its website to determine if a course meets equivalency standards. Chairs are sometimes consulted to determine whether a transfer course is equivalent to a Furman course. In such cases, the course description, course pre-requisites, and the course’s position in the curriculum can be helpful in establishing equivalency. Department chairs may ask that equivalency criteria be adjusted in consultation with the Registrar's office.
