Collaborate, Design, Innovate
Quick Tips for Snow Days:
- If you have an iPad, check out the Explain Everything app, which allows you to easily create screencasts by importing your PowerPoints, PDFs, and more. The software allows for basic editing and easy publishing.
- Here are some tips on using Moodle to keep class momentum going when you can't meet in-person. These were originally designed to address instructor and student absences due to the flu but are easily adapted to hassles created by inclement weather.
In The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), we collaborate with faculty, professional staff, and students to design and implement engaging learning experiences. Faculty collaborations include: individual and group consultations, course and assignment design support, forums to connect and share with other faculty, customized workshops and seminars, innovation support through teaching grants, collaborative technology exploration, and design and implementation of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects. The CTL Writing and Media Lab is a space where students can collaborate with faculty-nominated peers who are experienced in facilitating the writing and media creation process. CTL brings together student, staff, and faculty support in one location, in a dynamic, centralized environment where energetic exchange, deep learning, innovation, and intellectual community flourish.
